STORY- written by María Camila García Tobón - 11C

One winter afternoon, the lonely Mrs. Taylor was sitting on her couch when she received a letter from her friend Lizzy. Mrs. Taylor, excited, read her letter:
     "Dear Anne:
I have not seen you in a long time, I am so sorry about your husband, but I will give a party and I
       would love see you there.
                                                  -Love, Lizzy-"

Mrs. Taylor was a widow, but she had  inherited a big fortune, and she loved wearing jewels and the most precious and expensive dresses. Unfortunately, that was leaving her bankrupt, so she needed to improve her social relationships as soon as possible.

With this situation in mind, she put on her  best silk dress and her pearl necklace valued at two million dollars; and she went to Lizzy's house.

Lizzy's house was absolutely stunning, full of decorations and amazing paintings. All the guests were smartly dressed, all were aristocrats and very important people. All were surprised to see Mrs. Taylor there. The ladies began to whisper, but Mrs. Taylor came to talk to them.

Althought Mrs. Taylor was a rich woman with an important husband, she was reckless and bad-for-speak, and her attempt to socialize with them failed. The ladies looked at each other uncomfortably, and Mrs. Taylor walked away, sadly.

She was determined to leave, when a man approached her. She, hopeful, talks and flirts with him, but in a second,, the man steals her necklace and her handbag.

She screams and cries in despair, while the guests do not know what to do.

Luckily, the renowned detective Holmes was at the party and didn't hesitate a second to help Mrs Taylor.

He started calming Mrs. Taylor, offering a glass of water and then he heared her side of the story. After that, he talked with the guests and he obtained a description of the thief.

Now, with all the clues, he began to search the thief.

Holmes took a couple of weeks to find tthe belongings of Mrs. Taylor, searching over he region. But, when he returned her things to Mrs. Taylor, she gave him a rewaard and she invited him for a cup of tea in the garden.
